Why is God not Listening?

Psalm 10:1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide in times of trouble?

AD!

Are you struggling to understand why God isn’t listening to your prayers? I’ve had this question asked of me many times. And all of us have experienced seasons when it seems that God is not listening to our cries.

Sometimes the answer lies within us. We are not listening to the Lord. We are ignoring the daily promptings of the Holy Spirit, trying to direct us in the ways of God. Instead, we choose to go our own way, and then ask God to bless whatever results from our disobedience!

God listens to the words of faith. Are you going before the Lord, not boldly, but condemned? Are you constantly reminding yourself that you are not worthy, that you do not deserve? God isn’t listening. You have already been forgiven!

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Looking for mercy and grace? Go boldly before the Lord! Christ is your advocate.  God’s grace has made you worthy.

God doesn’t listen when you tell Him you don’t deserve to be blessed. He’s already forgiven you. Accept His mercy today for any mistake you’ve made.

God wants to help you in your daily life. You can go to Him when you have to make big and small decisions. Build your faith in the small things, so that you are ready to trust Him in the big things.

Throughout the day, be sensitive to the Holy Spirit guiding you, directing you, prompting you.

Proverbs 3:4-6  (Living Bible) If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then trust the Lord completely; don’t ever trust yourself.  In everything you do, put God first, and he will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Let Us Pray

My Lord, My God, oh how I have ignored your instructions and directions. Like a wayward child, I’ve been seeking my own path. Oh Lord, teach me to listen to your Spirit. Help me to grow to trust in your directing.

Yes, Lord, I’ve been stubborn and full of self-pride. I’ve pursued my own desires and not sought out what your plans are for my life.

Oh Lord, humble my heart, that I may make your way, my way. Fill me with the joy of the Lord, that I may seek your directions in all that I do.

Search me, Father, show me everything within myself that is not of you.  Help me to become more aware of your presence in everything I do.

In every area of my life, I want to know that I am doing it all, not as the world expects, but accordingly to your will. I only want to please you Lord, and walk in confidence and trust in you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
