Praying in Times of Depression

Psalm 42:5 – Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

 In John 14:1, Jesus tells His disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled”. He goes on to let them know that he will send the Holy Spirit as a comforter. We have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, guiding us and giving us strength and comfort. 

The Lord is speaking to you now. He has great plans for you. And He will take you through this.

Don’t take on these troubles and trials on your own. Allow God to bless you and guide you through. You are not alone!

Prayer:

Oh Lord, My God, you know my heart. You know my feelings. You know my thoughts. Calm me oh Lord. Even in these troubled times, guide my heart and thoughts so that I may speak what is right and Godly. May my words bless and uplift rather than hurt and divide. Allow others to see Christ in everything I say and do. Lift that cloud of negativity trying to envelope me and fill me with your joy. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
