Prayer When Paralyzed By Fear

Psalm 143:4 (New Living Translation) I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear.

AD!

Worry, fear, anxiety. Do you find yourself paralyzed by fear, such that you can’t pray or think anymore? You are not getting the answers you want from God. The deadlines are quickly approaching.

One reader said: “I have been paralyzed by fear stemming from financial stress. So much so, that I have had some extremely disturbing thoughts.”

The spirit of fear grows and takes roots within us and cripples our spiritual life and our faith in God. But the Bible is filled with Scriptures encouraging us not to fear.

Isaiah 44:8 (Lexham English Bible) “You must not tremble, and you must not be paralyzed with fear. Have I not made you hear from of old and declared it, and you are my witnesses? Is there a god besides me? And there is no rock! I know none!”

Galatians 6:9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.

Don’t allow fear to paralyze you or control you. You are a child of the living God!

So today, feed on the Word, empower yourself through the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your steps. Keep your eyes on the Lord. Do not lose your courage.

God is love. Perfect love. And the closer we come to him, the less power fear has over our lives, because we feel God’s continual presence – his strength, his comfort, and his guidance.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Let Us Pray

Grant me peace, Oh Heavenly Father. Let this fear just fall away, as my heart desires to seek You. For You are the rock of my life, my fortress, and my strength, even when I am weak.

My God, you have not given me a spirit of fear, timidity, or cowardice. You have blessed me with a spirit of power, courage, and self-control. May I not tremble, but trust in You. For there is no god like my God!

Help me to be confident in all situations, knowing that You hold the future and trusting that everything works together for my good. May I trust in Your Word. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen!
