Prayer to Resist the enemy

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. – James 4:7 [KJV]

James issued two instructions on how to overcome temptations: 

1. Submit to God 

2. Resist the devil.

And note what the result is: he will flee from you! The victory is yours. Whatever you may be facing, there’s a victory around the corner.

Sometimes when facing temptations we choose to run from God and not submit to His instructions. We then find it impossible to resist the enemy. Take the first step and the second becomes easier!

Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, I humbly come before you confessing my sins and weaknesses. Lord, on my own I’m weak. In You I’m made strong. I submit myself to your will.

Give me the strength to resist the wiles of the enemy. Continue to walk beside me and mold me Father.

Guide my actions, my thoughts, my words, my deeds. Allow me not to yield to temptation but help me to resist the devil and seek you more. May it be done to me according to your will. In Jesus name I pray Amen ????????
