Prayer To Defeat Laziness
Proverbs 10:4 Lazy hands bring poverty, but hard-working hands lead to wealth.
The Word of God is filled with verses speaking out against laziness. Laziness takes you away from your path of success. It gets in the way of your prayer and worship life. It robs you of your blessings.
Proverbs 10:26-27 Lazy people irritate their employers, like vinegar to the teeth or smoke in the eyes. Fear of the LORD lengthens one’s life, but the years of the wicked are cut short.
Does laziness play a part in your life today? Are you discouraged in the morning from rising up and facing the day? Do you put off what you need to do consistently? Are you always trying to take shortcuts? Do you find yourself attracted to “get rich quick” schemes? Wake up and arise and reach out for your blessings!
Let Us Pray
Oh Heavenly Father, give me the strength and grace to overcome all forms of laziness in my life today. Take away any spirit of laziness that tries to attack me.
Colossians 3:23-24 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Fill me with the passion and love for my work, at home and in the workplace. May I be punctual, diligent, enthusiastic, passionate, attentive to detail, and willing to learn.
Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.”
May my attitude reflect the joy of the Lord in the workplace so that others may see your glory and be blessed.
Luke 16:10 “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”
Oh lord, I pray that I would lean on, trust in, and be confident in You, with all my heart and mind. May I not rely on my own insight or understanding. Be my guide. Fill me with your inspiration anew every day.
Hebrews 6:11-12 “And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”
