Prayer to be Generous

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Do you struggle with giving? Or are you encouraged by these words in verse 6 of 2 Corinthians chapter 9: “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously”.

Some people are always willing to give. Some of us need to learn how to give generously. Our lord loves a cheerful giver, and He will recompense us when we give with love and faith. 

He is our supplier. When we give to the Lord’s people, He enriches us, so that we can be even more generous on every occasion.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, give me a heart of love and of generosity. Increase in me the joy of giving. Lord, you supply the seed and the bread, and you will increase my store and enlarge my harvest. Oh Lord, enrich me in all things, that I can be generous on every occasion.

Lord, you said to give and it will be given back to me, pressed down, shaken together and running over. You first gave your Son, what greater love or display of generosity. I cry out to you that my heart will abound in generosity and love for others as you have loved us. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
