Prayer – It is Well with Me????

Today’s post was written by one of our writers. As she pours out her heart to you and to the Lord, I pray that you are blessed by this prayer and testimony!

It Is Well With Me

There are times that we pray for things, but they don’t happen our way. We pray with all our heart, we cry to God and meditate on all the scriptures related to our situation, but still things don’t go our way. Maybe you had a loved one in the hospital, you prayed for them to get well, but they still passed on. Maybe you failed a promotional exam and now you have to repeat the grade, or you lost your job. Maybe you are going through divorce or you are in debt. Or maybe you are struggling to put food on the table.

Sometimes when we pray for God to change a situation, and He doesn’t seem to change it as fast as we want, or He doesn’t change it at all, we tend to have questions. We ask ourselves if our relationship with God is good enough, or if God has forsaken us.

But if you are reading this today, be still and know that it is well with you. God is totally in control. You may not understand why things didn’t work out the way you wanted them to, but God’s still on the throne!

Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Let Us Pray: Prayer – It is Well????

My precious Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ, I have come to exalt your Name and to sing your song. How precious are You, oh Lord – more precious than silver and gold! How awesome is your love for me; that You would die for a wretched sinner that I was! You forgot your glory, splendor and majesty, and you came to the earth as a human being without glory and fame.

Thank You my God! You loved me when I didn’t love You. You gave up all you had, even your life, that you may give me hope and a future. Lord, what else can you not give me?

Romans 8:32 Since God did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Oh Lord, thank You that You are able, willing and ready to give me all that I ask of You, at the right time. For the plans you have for me are good plans, and You will work out the very best for me.

Trusting in the Lord

Therefore, I will trust in You. Lord, I still have questions. I’m still wondering why things are not going my way. Why others around me seem to have it all, but I’m struggling. I am still wondering why I wasn’t the successful candidate from the interview, and why my marriage didn’t work out.

But Lord, You are sovereign, You know all things, You had seen all my days before I even came into being, and You are reliable. I will lean on You, and trust You with my life.

Have no Fear

Help me to remember that You made me and knitted me in my mother’s womb, when I didn’t even know I existed. So have your way, my God. I will not fear, for You are constantly with me. If I have You, then I’m satisfied. You are all that matters.

So it is well with me. It is well with my soul. It is well with my health. It is well with my family. It is well with my education. It is well with my children. It is well, because God is in control. It is well because God is faithful. It is well because I am not alone. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name. Amen.

Conclusion – Testimony ✨

I lost my dad when I was one year old. My mum was unemployed. I went through school and have been the best learner always. But when I went to varsity, I failed my first year. That was going to be the end of my career, had I not known God, because my mum could not even afford transport fees. I told God that it is not possible for me to fail, unless He had better plans for me. I can’t go in the streets. Three days later, I met someone who promised to pay my school fees for me to repeat my first year.

It didn’t end there. I moved to the city, and a certain family took me in. Two years later, I was kicked out of the house, and I couldn’t go back to my family because I had to finish varsity. I was left to look unto God and Him alone. I told myself: “it is well”. I would not need a house if I can stay in the street with God.

Sometimes I lived with a man, alone in the house, because that was the place I got. That doesn’t sound safe I know, but if I sleep in one room with a man I don’t know, I know God is with me, so I am safe. I prayed several times to just finally have my own place, but it didn’t happen. It is well with me as long as God is with me.

If you are going through something with God, it is well with you. Quit trying to understand why. God is with you and that is all that matters. God loves you and that is all that matters. I love to think of it this way:

The situation that I am in attracts the attention of God. So His eye is on me…and I’m satisfied.
