Prayer for When You Want Vengeance

Proverbs 20:22-23 TPT Don’t ever say, “I’m going to get even with them if it’s the last thing I do!” Wrap God’s grace around your heart, and He will be the one to vindicate you.

AD!

Have you ever felt that you must have the last say in an argument or you have to get back at someone for something they did or said? This is really sometimes very difficult to deal with, but we must know that it’s not about that.

We need to ask God to show us how to hold our tongue. Our tongue has power. We can either speak life or speak death. The choice is yours.

When your words are filled with positivity, you bring life to situations. Proverbs 18:21 confirms this by saying, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

Don’t say “I’ll get even”. Instead, trust in the Lord to vindicate you!

Let us pray.

Abba Father, I love and honor you. Thank you, Lord, that your grace is sufficient for me. You are the lamp unto my feet and a light onto my path. I come to you today as I am struggling with the words I speak. They have not been words to edify others but actually to pull them down.

My heart is troubled. I’m not at peace. I desire to seek vengeance.

Lord, I recognize my shortfall and come humbly before your throne of grace where I receive mercy. I pray, Father, that your Holy Spirit will help me to change the way I think and cause my words to glorify you.

Help me to forgive and release. May my words and utterances be a blessing to others. In Jesus mighty and holy name I pray, Amen.????????
