Prayer: Dealing With Low Self Esteem

How’s your self-image? How do you view and see yourself?  At some point, we all lack confidence, but people with low self-esteem are constantly unsatisfied with themselves.

AD!

The Psalmist said in Psalm 139:14, “I have been fearfully and wonderfully made”.

And in 1 Peter 2:9, we read: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”

Jeremiah 31:3 tells us: “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving-kindness, I have drawn you.”

Isaiah 49:16 says. “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.”

Matthew 5:13 and 14 reminds us that we are the salt of the earth and we are the light of the world.

You are loved, you are chosen, you are royal, you are holy, you are special, you are called. You are the light of the world, you are the salt of the earth, and you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ! Isn’t that amazing?

Surely the people who mistreated you, looked down on you, abused you, or called you names just did not know who you are! Forgive them for not knowing you. You are royalty because your Father God is a King.

Isn’t it amazing that when you were lost, there was nothing on this earth that could redeem you? The blood of bullocks and fattened rams could not redeem you.

Why? Because your value was above everything else. The only way you could be redeemed was with the blood of Jesus, because of your value!

Let Us Pray

Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains. You are almighty and all-powerful!

Dear Father, I’m struggling to believe that I am good enough. I often see myself as a failure and I don’t believe I am beautiful enough.

I have so many insecurities and I see everybody else as better than I am. Sometimes, I wish I were other people. But today, I’m reminded that You have done well in making me, for I am wonderfully and fearfully made.

Psalms 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…

Father, I release any anger, pain of the past, bad feelings, resentment, and every desire for revenge before you now. I lay it at your feet and I release and forgive those who have wronged me.

Lord, I may have had failed relationships, I may be hard to be loved by some people, but Your word says that You have loved me with an everlasting love.

I may have been abused and mistreated, but I am royalty, and heaven has chosen me! I may be rejected, looked down on, and despised, but I do belong to God’s family through Christ, and I am an heir of God.

Romans 8:16-17b The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ…

Lord, help me to accept your love for me, and to love myself. Help me to see myself the way you see me. Help me to believe in myself and be confident about who I am. Help me to know who I truly am, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Lord I ask for boldness to arise and shine, for my light has come, and the glory of the Almighty has risen upon me. I receive wisdom, understanding, and revelation of who I am in Christ.

I am made whole, I am refreshed, I am loved, I am chosen over and over. I am the apple of God’s eye. I am a new creation, in the name of Jesus Christ.

I walk in love, in power, and in self-control. The Spirit who raised Jesus Christ from the dead dwells in me. I am a full package of God’s blessing to the earth. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

I am redeemed, forgiven, and saved. In the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord thinks about me continually and He has my name in the palm of His hand. The Lord gave His Son to die in my place. I feel the love of God. God has placed so much value on me. Glory to God!!! Amen.
