Prayer against masturbation and pornography

Are you a Christian man or woman who masturbates or watches pornography? Maybe you already know that watching pornography destroys relationships, causes shame and guilt, and is a sin? But despite all that you know, you keep watching more pornography and masturbating. It’s an addiction. Maybe you really tried your best to stop masturbating or watching pornography, but you have always gone back? Do you wonder if purity will ever be possible for you?

Matthew 5:28 But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Colossians 3:5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual sin, impurity, lust, and shameful desires. Don’t be greedy for the good things of this life, for that is idolatry.

Tim shared his story with me.

“I started watching pornography at the age of 17. I saw my big brother watching it, and I got curious to see and know more. Before I knew it, I was already addicted. For the next 16 years, I was living a life of guilt and shame. I tried to stop it, downloaded apps to help me, but to no avail. When I got married, I didn’t tell my wife about my problem, and this brought so much misunderstanding in our home. I lost affection for her, and eventually I lost my marriage. I felt like I was destined to perish. But one day, when I was feeling empty and dead inside, I invited God in my situation. For the first time in a long time, I felt peace. I bought a non-smart phone and I started reading the word of God daily. I memorized a lot of scriptures. I am now 5 years free from pornography and masturbation.”

The problem with sexual sin is that you sin against God, and against your own body. You bring many limitations in your life, as Satan will use it against you to fight your destiny. Did you ever think of what spirit could be behind masturbation and pornography? Of course it’s an evil spirit assigned to destroy destinies and cause disobedience to God.

Ephesians 2:2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

Please understand that it is not you against Satan, you will never win that battle. It has to be you and God. Admit that you’re powerless and you can’t do it by yourself. Then rely on God, completely. Today, live for God. Don’t worry about tomorrow. As long as it is called today, choose to live for God, and ask Him to help you live for Him. The Bible tells us that we have everything we need to lead a godly life.

2 Peter 1:3 God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and for godliness. This power was given to us through knowledge of the one who called us by his own glory and integrity.

Let Us Pray

Jeremiah 33:3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Dear Lord, I admit that I have sinned against you in my heart, mind and actions. I have thought about, and done things which do not please You. I feel guilty, dirty and sinful. My God, I have been in this circle of pornography and masturbation for long. I’ve tried quitting by myself, but it was to my own disappointment. I keep going back to watching pornography and masturbating, and the more I do it, the more I’m trapped in the act, and in shame.

I repent of my sin today, and I receive your forgiveness through Jesus Christ, my Saviour. Purify my mind, my soul and my spirit. Create in me a clean heart, renew within me a steadfast spirit. Remove from me a corrupted mind. Restore your Holy Spirit to me. Let your blood purify and renew my conscience. Set me free from guilt and shame. Give me a new identity in Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:22 We have been sprinkled with his blood to free us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with clean water. So we must continue to come to him with a sincere heart and strong faith.

Lord, I invite you into my situation. You are my only hope. Come and do what only You can do. Set me free from watching pornography and masturbation. Every feeling of loneliness and lack of fulfilment making me to watch pornography, let it break now in the name of Jesus Christ. Every spirit monitoring me and influencing me to watch pornography, be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. You evil spirit fighting my salvation, break now in the name of Jesus Christ. I’m redeemed and set free.

I am the apple of God’s eye and God’s jealousy is on me. God who does not sleep nor slumber is watching over me. I am an obedient child of God, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Psalms 121:4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
