Overcoming Frustration – Day 2
In Overcoming Frustration Part 1, we looked at Karla’s journey to victory and overcoming frustration. Today we continue where we left off as she continues to search for reconciliation.
That Yearning For Love
Months passed, at one point I still felt that yearning to know what a father’s love felt like. When before I had told myself that I didn’t need a father because of the bitterness in my heart, now that God had cleansed it, I realized that I was ready to receive God as my Father, my Abba.
This is one of the problems we face today with the youth, that they do not know their identity with their Father.
Abba Father, Do You Love Me?
In a small prayer with a couple of sisters, we prayed together. I was crying and asking God, not aloud, but in my head with my thoughts, as I couldn’t speak because of the crying. I was asking God to tell me He loved me. That I knew He did because of what His Word said plus the sacrifice, but I needed for Him to let me feel it and hear it.
The Lord Has Heard You!
A young girl came to me, God has given her great gifts, while I was on my knees and about to stand up she got close and told me this, “The Lord has heard your plea. He has listened to your cry, to your words. This is what He puts in my heart to say, ‘I love you daughter, and you have no idea just how much.'”
I couldn’t contained the feeling in my chest and heart at the moment, so I sank to my knees once again. I was filled with God’s love as a Father and I could never explain that feeling of peace, feeling so full of love, of knowing that I am loved by Him. I will never forget this experience.
Bible Verses
Often our own frustrations and struggles grow because of a lack of love or feeling of being loved. But our Heavenly Father loves us and listens to our cries.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!..“ 1 John 3:1
“Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11-12
“If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth.” John 14:15-17
Prayer
Heavenly and loving Father, what a great and mighty God you are. I honor your name. Oh Lord, let your light and love shine upon me. Hear my cries and answer me today. I want to be reassured that you do love me.
Thank you for sending your son to die for me, for the redemption of my sins. Thank you for your blessings upon me. Bless me today oh Lord, as I humbly cry at your feet. Fill me with love, peace and joy, today. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen!
