How To Pray – The Lord’s Prayer

In Matthew 6:9–13 (ESV), Jesus gives us a wonderful example of how to pray.

AD!

“Pray then like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'”

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. We approach God’s presence with honor and praise.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. We acknowledge that we surrender everything to His plans, above our own plans and desires.

Give us this day our daily bread, Keep it simple. He will provide what we need at the appropriate time. No need to worry about tomorrow or next week!

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Forgiveness is the key. Forgiving others unlocks our heart to God’s love for us and His blessings on our lives.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Yes, asking for the Lord’s covering and protection is okay! His plans for us are good. And all things work to good for those that love the Lord.

For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. And again we close with worship and praise to the Heavenly Father!  When we approach the Father in humility and ask in faith, we receive what we have asked because He who promised is faithful!
