How Do You See things?
It’s interesting to see how two people can see the same activity, in totally different ways.
There’s the story of the 2 guys, whose wives were going Christmas shopping. They were invited to go along, but the guys decided to head out ice-fishing instead.
So these two brave, tough souls headed out to the lake. It got colder and windier as the day went on. As the heater in their little ice shack ran out of fuel, the wind whipped through the cracks in the boards. They decided to head back to the shore.
That’s when things started to get really out of control. They are walking across a thin part of the ice, when it suddenly shifted and cracked. In an instant, one of the guys went through the ice, down into the freezing water.
The second fellow got down flat onto the ice. He reached into the hole in the ice, and then grabbed his friend’s arm. They struggled to get out of the water. And, after a mighty effort, they make it.
As they are laying there on the ice, wet to the bone, their clothing soaked with freezing iced water, and gasping for air, one guy turned to the other and said. This sure beats shopping, doesn’t it!”
How do you see things?
I really dislike shopping. More so at Christmas time, when everyone, AND EVERYWHERE, is so busy. In addition to going about their regular lives, there is the hustle and bustle of gift-buying for family, friends, and colleagues. There’s the shopping for decorative items, such as Christmas trees, ornaments, garlands, and ribbon to beautify their homes.
But, for others, this shopping period is the highlight of their year!
On the other hand, there are those who love adventure and danger! They prefer risking their lives falling on the icy ski slopes, to shopping!
How do you look at things on a daily basis?
As a Christian, do you see things differently from others? While others are complaining, are you rejoicing and giving thanks and praise to the Lord?
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him. And he will make your paths straight.
Do you live a life of hope and expectation, knowing Your God is on your side? Or are you frustrated and tired?
2 Corinthians 5-7 reads. For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Let Us Pray
Heavenly Father, open my eyes to always worship and praise your name. May I see your glory, in my life, each and every day.
Give me the courage and strength to testify of your goodness. Show me how to walk humbly and triumphantly in Your ways.
Let me not limit what You may do through me through unbelief or fear. I will not rely on my own abilities, but Yours. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen!
