Don’t argue with the arrogant!
Proverbs 9:7,8 (TPT) If you try to correct an arrogant cynic, expect an angry insult in return. And if you try to confront an evil man, don’t be surprised if all you get is a slap in the face!
8 So don’t even bother to correct a mocker, for he’ll only hate you for it. But go ahead and correct the wise; they’ll love you even more.
I once found myself drawn into discussions with atheists online. These discussions were usually long and to no avail. I found that it was not a good use of my God-given time.
Do not allow yourself to be drawn into useless arguments. There are many who will try to argue with you about your belief in the Word of God. They do not want to learn but are simply trying to mock your beliefs and faith. Let them be. Don’t try to correct or teach them. But smile know that they have not experienced the love of God as you have.
Eventually, the Holy Spirit will guide and direct them and only then will they understand. We know that God’s timing is perfect. We trust Him to fight our battles!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, shower me with your peace and love. Bless me with the wisdom to discern the wise from the foolish. As Matthew 7:6 declares, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”
Help me Lord to not waste my time in useless arguments but bless those who are willing to hear your Word. Let me be a guiding light to those who place in my path. I pray that with my encouragement, they may come to know and love you.
Thank you that I am led by you, in Jesus name, Amen!
