Overcoming Fear – Prayer: The Enemy is Disarmed in Christ’s Death
As a Christian, are you crippled by fear? Are you afraid to walk in faith and do all that God has called you to do, because you are afraid to fail? Afraid that you are not good enough? Afraid that others will laugh at you?
Colossians 2:15. When God had disarmed the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them, [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross.
When you think of the cross, what comes to your mind? Most people will think of the blood of Jesus, redemption and forgiveness of our sins. However, the cross did not only bring us salvation from eternal punishment, but it also gave us victory over our enemy, the devil.
The Bible says that when Jesus Christ died, God stripped and disarmed principalities and powers through Christ and through His cross, and He (God) made a public spectacle of them.
That means that our enemy has no weapons anymore. Thanks be to our Heavenly Father who gave us Christ to die for us. Now we have nothing to fear anymore.
Let Us Pray
My loving Father, thank You for sending your only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. Thank You that in Christ and in His cross, You have disarmed principalities and powers, and have made them a public spectacle.
1 Corinthians 15:57. But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory, [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lord, thank You for the victory that I have in Christ over the enemy. Every mountain of difficulty, every principality and power, every spirit that is standing against me and my family, you are disarmed already and defeated.
You may have used my lack of knowledge and ignorance in the past, but right now you lose legal ground in my life and my family because of Christ and His cross.
From this day henceforth, you are regarded as illegal and a liar. Therefore, let the angels of truth arrest you now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Every depression, you are disarmed. Bad health, anxiety, and every enemy of my life and faith, you leave now in the name of Jesus Christ.
Debts, failure and sleeplessness, hear the word of God. You are disarmed and do not have power to harm me and to keep me in bondage anymore.
I am victorious in Christ and in His cross, and no weapon fashioned against me as a receiver of Christ’s redemption power shall ever prosper. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
1 John 5:4-5. Because everyone who is born from God defeats the world. And this is the victory that has defeated the world: our faith. Who defeats the world? Isn’t it the one who believes that Jesus is God’s Son?
