Joshua 9:14 The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire of the Lord.
Joshua and the Israelites had just miraculously defeated Jericho and God’s favor was upon them. But yet, when they were approached by some strangers, they were deceived and made a peace treaty with them, which God had forbidden. This caused many problems later on. Problems that could have been avoided if Joshua had consulted the Lord.
Before we get involved with others, we need to consult the Lord. Whether it is a job interview, a business partnership, a new relationship, a new contract, consult the Lord first. God knows the whole package. He is not deceived.
Your best decisions come when you are consulting with God. He will guide you and protect you from making mistakes. He will open doors and lead you to the right people.
