Make peace, don’t be controlled by anger

Ephesians 4:26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

AD!

At some point in time, we all feel hurt and disappointed, but it’s not okay to let those feelings stay and develop. Often you may feel that you have a right to remain angry, to keep the offense, to foster the disagreement.

The devil wants us to maintain this anger. The longer you remain angry, the more it grows, and it develops into more sin. Let go of the anger. Let go of the offense. Let go and let God. Make your peace and move on.

Let Us Pray

Heavenly Father, there are times I allow anger to get the better of me. Oh Lord, I’m hurt, I feel insulted, I feel used. Lord, I know this is not of you.

Proverbs 15:1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Help me to overcome and not allow these feelings to fester. Help me not to be consumed by anger. I pray that sin would not emerge as the anger infests my mind.

Proverbs 14:17 People with a hot temper do foolish things; wiser people remain calm.

And so, I pray that you grant me the peace of mind that I will not allow others to get me angry.  Help me to not hold on to anger and offense. Help me to quickly release it all. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.

Ephesians 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.
