Evening Prayer – lie down and sleep in peace

Psalm 4:7-8, NIV In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Tonight as you lie down to sleep, let your soul be at peace. Our Lord makes us dwell in safety. His angels cover us.  If God is for us, who can be against us?

Let your night be calm and peaceful, knowing the Lord is preparing the way for you for tomorrow. Doors are opening, prayers are being answered. You just need to trust in the Lord!

Let Us Pray

Heavenly Father, I thank You for today. Your mercies are great and Your glory is made manifest in this world every day in my life.

I thank You for the gift of life and the blessing of this day that I was able to spend with my family and friends. Help me to live in awareness of Your presence, seeing You as my ultimate joy and knowing that all will be well with me because You will never leave me nor forsake me.

Thank You for this day, my evening, and my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to worship You with praises. Tonight I thank You for all the blessings of my day and all that is to come. Thank You for this blessed evening to end my day in peace. Tonight I worship You with praises, giving thanks with a humble heart. 

Every morning brings a new opportunity to start over, refreshed again in your love. I pray that the morning arrives with my spirit restored and my weariness all gone.

Forgive me, oh Lord, of my transgressions. Fill my heart with Your word, that I may follow in the steps of Your Son, Jesus. Be my joy, my salvation. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
