???? Prayer – Safe in the Shadow of His wings

Danger and evil abounds everywhere around us today. But as Christians we have the privilege of resting in the protective arm of our God. The Word says “be of good cheer, I’ve overcome the world!”. (John 16:33).

AD!

Where do you take your refuge? Who do you go to in times of distress? Have you allowed sin to get between you and God? I’ve heard people say, my God is not with me. But it is usually that they are not with God. Their guilt and sins have made them ashamed to approach the Lord with a humble heart and open spirit.

Let Us Pray –  Prayer: Safe in the Shadow of His wings????

Dear Lord, thank You for your mercy and grace over my life. Thank You for your unconditional love and care upon me and my family. Great is your love, reaching to the skies, and your faithfulness is forever. To your goodness and kindness there is no ending. Who is like unto You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, and doing wonders? Who can be compared to You Lord? Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to You, my God? Oh, Lord, I take refuge in you. You have a mighty arm: strong is your hand, and high is your right hand.

Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Oh Lord, there are times that I fear for the worst. Times when it looks as if it is all over, and it seems like I am finished. The nightmares are terrifying, the doctor’s report is giving me worry constantly, and my marriage does not seem to work out. Sometimes I am tempted to dwell on the negative side of events, but today your word reminds me that my refuge is in the shadow of your wings.

Psalm 57:1b I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

When I have no other reason to hope for good health, Lord, my hope will be in your word. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings. My health, my marriage, my children, Lord I give them all in your care. Today, I choose to abide in the shadow of your wings and be still, for I know that all things will work together for my good.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God,  those who are called according to His purpose.

Lord, thank You for teaching me today that nothing happens TO me, but all things happen FOR me. Lord, I believe. But remove my doubts and unbelief. Now, I do not see how ill health will work together for my good. I do not see how parenting wayward children will work together for my good. But Your word is worth trusting, because you have never lied, and you never will. So, Lord, thank you that my current struggles are giving birth to great testimonies.

As I dwell in the secret place of your Word and fervent prayer, and as I abide in the shadow of your wings—the shadow of safety, may You teach me patience Lord. I refuse to complain. Let my faith grow so that I will always be sure of the things You have not done yet. I wait on you Lord, here in the shadow of your wings. I will wait for your salvation, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
