Weary, burdened, broken?
Hi, brothers and sisters in Christ! A happy and blessed Sunday to you! Let’s take a few minutes to relax and meditate on God’s Word. Today, we look at those periods where we seem to be completely worn out and broken.
Matthew 11:28-30 reads. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
Are you weary, burdened and broken?
That’s because right now, you are unequally yoked. You are carrying the weight of others. Don’t just walk according to the path your ancestors took. You need to walk in another direction; you need to walk with Jesus! Be yoked with Jesus, so He will carry your weight.
Some people are unequally yoked to their past. They are unable to forgive themselves for past sins, and therefore also believe God has not forgiven them. They carry around this burden of sin and so are unable to get close to the Lord again.
Don’t follow the people in the church, but follow Jesus! Don’t just learn about Him. Learn from Him!
We must continually spend time in union and communion with Jesus to learn about Him and from Him. Walk in His ways, each and every day.
Matthew 6:33 – 34 tells us. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
We have been playing church, we have been practicing religion. This leads to tiredness because we are yoked to rituals and customs, repeatedly going along with the ways of the world.
You are called to be a worshipper! Worship God with your all. Your mind, body and spirit! In Spirit and in truth!
Do not embrace the cultures of the world! Embrace God and His ways, for His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts!
Don’t try to be like another Christian; be like a little Christ! Walked the way Jesus walked! Jesus is no longer on the cross! He is risen! The Holy Spirit is here in us to help us live!
Let Us Pray
I am the righteousness of God. Lord, I am blameless, I am holy in your sight. I have the Holy Spirit within me. I am loved. Because of His grace, I am able to surrender all unto my Savior.
My Lord, I pray that your mercy overshadows my life, my faith, my career, children, friends, family, enemies and everything else I say and do.
Renew me, transform, reinvent me and open my spirit so that I can be who You want me to be and that I carry out the purpose you have created me for.
Forgive me for every thing I’ve done wrong. Disconnect me from everything that doesn’t please you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
