????Habits of the successful Christians! Part 6 – Early Rising!
Hi Brothers and sisters in Christ! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you! Let’s take a few minutes to relax and meditate on God’s Word. Today, we continue our mini series on the Daily habits of successful Christians.
We know that true success is the result of the habits you develop over time. When we examine the lives of successful people and successful Christians, we realize they all have certain habits that they incorporate into their daily routine.
In this series, we have been examining your daily routine. What is your daily routine like? Does it set you up for success or just for surviving the day? Our morning routine and our daily habits can either break or make us!
Last time we looked at – Exercise!
Today, we look at – Early Rising!
Proverbs 6:9 reads, “How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep?”
And the Proverbs 31 woman reads from Proverbs 31:15, “She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.”
Successful people are accustomed to rising early, and that habit appears repeatedly among those who do well in life.
Sleep is an important aspect of our lives. The habit of rising early doesn’t mean we get less than adequate sleep. But rising early gives us the advantage of starting and organizing our day before others can disrupt our routine. It gives you a great head start to the day.
Are you tired in the morning? Then go to bed earlier!
Is it hard to get up in the morning? Build it into a habit and as part of your daily routine. When it is time to get up, just get up. It will take some discipline initially. Get up, exercise, or brush your teeth, take a shower, or wash your face.
It’s a great time to spend a few minutes with the Lord in prayer and meditation.
When you seek the Lord and his wisdom at this time, you are sharper and more focused. There are fewer outside or mental distractions. And it prepares you mentally and spiritually for the day.
Reading your Bible, praying, and meditating before anything else is the way to a successful life.
Psalm 119:147 – I rise before dawn and cry for help. I wait for Your words.
Tom Corley surveyed 233 self-made millionaires on their daily habits. He had this to say.
“Getting up at five in the morning, to tackle the top three things you want to accomplish in your day, allows you to regain control of your life. It gives you a sense of confidence that you, indeed, direct your life.”
Let us Pray
Oh Heavenly and blessed Father, give me the strength and courage to rise early and face each day. May I rise before the sun and cry out to you. As the sun rises, may I be found listening to your encouraging voice. Your comfort and promises never fail.
My joy rises with you in the morning. So I thank you for your peace that passes all understanding and my complete rest in your unfailing love. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
