Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Do you pray blessings over your children or grand-children? Praying biblical blessings over our children is an important activity that we can and should do as parents. Negative voices bombard their lives daily, and your positive blessings can certainly change everything for them.
A blessing or declaration can be a prayer of commission, a Bible passage, or words of encouragement. Blessings can also be spoken over a child for the purpose of declaring God’s protection, joy, guidance and wisdom over them.
Numbers 6:22–26 The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: ‘“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’
A blessing is different from a prayer: When we pray, we direct our words toward God. But in a blessing, we direct our words to an individual. So, claim God’s promises boldly for you and your family.
