Prayer for when life is hard

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When you are going through rough and tough times, do you wonder if God is still fulfilling His promises in your life? Or has He forgotten you? 

The Bible tells us to be still and know in your heart, mind, body and Spirit that He is God. He wants you to be still and not act in the flesh, so that He can do His work in you, through you and for you, for His name to be exalted in heaven and on earth.

In the Psalms it says “Blessed are those whose strength is in You… They go from strength to strength till each appears before God in Zion.” 

Going from strength to strength, means that we must constantly be challenged and changed, to grow and gain in strength.

Allow God’s supernatural growth to happen in your life. Be assured that He has already equipped you with all you need. And that includes all the strength you need.

In the tough times, remember Psalm 84:11:

For the LORD God is a sun and shield. The LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Let Us Pray

Heavenly and merciful father, You are my strength when things are tough. When life gets hard, I can turn to you. You never forsakes me nor abandons me. My strong tower, the rock of my life, I put my uttermost faith and trust in You, for You are the one who never fails. 

Lord, in these extremely difficult times, I call upon you to lift my depressed spirit. All the walls seem to be closing in on me. But Your unconditional love is my shield. Shield me from the darkness of this harsh and cruel world.

Lord, I will not fear, for Your rod and Your staff are my comfort. Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Thank you, Lord, for carrying me though these difficulties. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
