Prayer for when you feel to quit

Daniel 9:20-23 20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:

AD!

For three weeks Daniel prayed and fasted for God to answer his prayer. In the book of Daniel, we read that God had sent an angel, Gabriel, to Daniel, the first time he prayed!

The answers to his prayers would materialize some weeks after. But it’s so comforting to know that when you pray, you are being heard. God is moving in heavenly realms to answer your prayers.

Sometimes, you are being prepared for the next step in the process. Sometimes you are simply lacking in faith and not responding to God’s directions in your life. Some things we don’t understand immediately. God’s thoughts and ways are not ours thoughts and ways.

Let us pray

Emmanuel, Lord God Almighty, I praise Your holy name. Today Lord, I feel so tired, weary and discouraged. The only way I see out of this is to give up totally.

But Lord, I welcome the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Let Him be my Comforter and Guide. I acknowledge that I may need to make difficult changes in my life. Direct me oh Lord in what I need to do, where I need to go.

Despite all that surrounds me, I will not quit. I will not give up. Give me the strength and courage to persevere. Lift me up when I am discouraged. Bless my soul oh Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
