Psalm 57:2 “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.”

Waking up feeling purposeless, unhappy, just drifting through life, can be frustrating. Around us, friends and coworkers appear to be living engaging, meaningful and happy lives.

Don’t be fooled by their outward appearance of happiness and satisfaction. This outer shell often hides deeper insecurities and problems. Instead, look inward at your relationship with your Lord. What dreams and goals has He laid upon your heart? If you are struggling to know your purpose, it may simply be that you are being prepared and your purpose will be revealed at the appropriate time.

Use this time to get closer to the Lord. Dig into God’s Word. Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s word brings light to paths that otherwise seem dark.

Spend time in solitude with the Lord. Use this time to ask God for direction and listen to His voice. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that God always rewards those who seek him.

And trust in God to lead you where you need to be. As Psalm 23:2-3 says, “He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
