???? Habits of the successful Christians! Part 2 – Reading

Hi! Brothers and sisters in Christ! Welcome back, and a blessed and wonderful day to you! Let’s take a few minutes to relax and meditate on God’s Word. Today we continue our mini series on the Daily habits of successful Christians.

AD!

We know that true success is the result of the habits you develop over time. When we examine the lives of successful people and successful Christians, we realize they all have certain habits that they incorporate into their daily routine.

This week we examine your daily routine. What is your daily routine? Does it set you up for success, or just for surviving the day? Our morning routine and our daily habits can either break or make us!

Yesterday we looked at Prayer and Meditation

Today we look at – Reading and Obeying the Word of God.

The key to success is keeping yourself educated. Successful men have a yearning to learn and understand. They read a lot. As Christians, we want to have a desire to read and understand the things of God.

Effective Christians Read and Obey God’s Word. When you are under spiritual attack, knowing where to find God’s promises in the Bible gives you strength to overcome.

Successful Christians are effective because their lives are powered by the Word of God. They cherish the Bible, Old Testament and New Testament. They may have a passion for the Psalms or Proverbs. They understand that the Bible is the spoken Word of God.

Job 23:12 reads “I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my portion of food.”

Job was under spiritual attack from the enemy. But because he had already studied and knew God’s Word, he was better equipped to remain steadfast in his faith and trust in God.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

Matthew 4:4 “But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Romans 15:4 “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

They know what God says and that knowledge empowers them to make right choices in more consistent ways. They resist temptation because they have God’s Word on their hearts and on their minds. They are more able to stand up for right, give right advice, say the right thing at the right time because they know what right is, they can even quote it.

Effective Christians begin to pull away from immaturity and entanglement with sin and the world to the degree that they develop the #1 habit of reading the Bible on a regular basis.

Let us Pray

Prayer To Read The Bible Consistently.

Heavenly and merciful Father, I’ve been struggling to commit to read and study Your Word, The Bible on a daily and consistent basis.

Oh Lord, You know the desires of my heart. Fill me with the commitment to pursue your word each and every day. May your word become a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, directing my every step.

Let your Holy Spirit guide and lead me as I apply your Word to my daily life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
