????Prosperity – Should You Feel Guilty?
Proverbs 10:22 – The blessing of the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
There are many who will make you feel guilty for being successful. There are many great men of God in the Bible who were very successful. God blessed the work of their hands. When your blessings are from the Lord, and not ill-gotten, there is no shame or guilt.
The question is: where is your focus? Is God, worshipping God, serving the Lord, blessing His people, foremost in your life? Or is the accumulation of wealth and fortune your focus?
As a teenager, when I was preparing for my exams, I did not allow my studies to take me away from doing my duties in the church. I would not miss service because I had to study. I wouldn’t rush away before the service ended for a group study.
I told my study mates that I was unavailable at those times and they can either find a time convenient for me or work without me. I wasn’t worried what decision they would take, because my God was my provider; I know he would have worked things out for my benefit.
Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Our God is a God of abundance. This is clearly revealed in the Scriptures. From the beginning of time, He has provided financial prosperity for His people through obedience to His Word.
Job 22:21 Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way, prosperity will come to you.
Maybe you were taught it’s God’s will for you to struggle and suffer. Whether you prosper or not is hugely dependent on which teaching you sit under. By which words you sit under. Satan is the author of lies and of poverty. God is the Author of abundance.
2 Corinthians 9:9-11 “As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion…”
