????Habits of the successful Christians! Part 7 – Good Financial Habits

Hi, Brothers and sisters in Christ! The joy of the Lord be with you! Let’s take a few minutes to relax and meditate on God’s Word. Today, we continue our mini series on the Daily habits of successful Christians.

AD!

We know that true success is the result of the habits you develop over time. When we examine the lives of successful people and successful Christians, we realize they all have certain habits that they incorporate into their daily routine.

In this series, we have been examining your daily routine. What is your daily routine like? Does it set you up for success or just for surviving the day? Our morning routine and our daily habits can either break or make us!

Last time we looked at – Early Rising!

Today, we look at – Good Financial Habits

Matthew 25: 20-21. And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’

Are you a good steward of the resources the Lord has blessed you with? When it comes to making financial decisions, are you struggling with regrets, as you look back at mistakes and bad financial choices you have made?

God expects you to manage His resources wisely. As you are faithful with little, He’ll entrust you with more.

1 Chronicles, 29:12. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.

So, make a plan. Monitor carefully where the money is going every month. Track ALL of your spending for 30 to 60 days. It will be a very telling exercise. Look for areas of wastage and useless spending. You would be surprised at the many areas you can cut back on. For example, instead of buying lunch every day, prepare a simple meal to carry to work. The savings would surprise you.

Take time to budget. Budgeting helps you to stick to a plan. You can then plan your spending around your income.

Always include a portion for saving. Get into the habit of saving regularly. (Proverbs 21:20) “In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but a foolish man devours all he has”.

To walk in God’s favor, you must develop the discipline to delay immediate gratification, as you surrender your life to God.

As a faithful steward, you will start saying “no” to your desires and “yes” to the will of God. You will seek first and desire God’s blessings to shower down over your life.

Let us Pray

Abba Father, I thank you for your protection that is found in our faith in Christ. You are our protector, shielding us from sickness, disease and harm.

Oh Heavenly Father, at times I have not been a good steward of all that you have blessed me with. Lord, help me to focus on being a better steward of your resources. May I make better use of the finances and gifts you have bestowed upon me. In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen!

(Deuteronomy 8:18). But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
