Your past does not define you

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Our identity can either cripple us or it can empower us. Who do you think you are? Do you constantly view yourself through your former life of sin? or are you pressing on in faith, knowing that you have been forgiven?

Are you constantly reminded of the sins of your past? The enemy will bring these things to mind to weaken and destroy you. When he attempts to do this, remind yourself of God’s promises to you.

If you let your past circumstances define you, you are crippling yourself and allowing the enemy to strip you of all the wonderful things that God has in store for you.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
