2 Timothy 4:18 And indeed the Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
A stronghold is a fortification, such as a fortified city. In many places in Scripture God is called our strength, (Psalm 46:1, 28:7-8, 118:14; Hab. 3:19), and our strong tower (Psalm 61:3; Proverb 18:10).
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).
Daily, the enemy will attempt to fill your thoughts with words of defeat: “You are not loved”, You are unworthy”, You will not be healed”, “You will never succeed”.

The next time you are tempted by one of Satan’s lies, instead of giving in to the deception and losing your emotional balance, speak the Scriptures out loud and confess the promises of the Lord. Instead of marinating in the lies from the evil one, meditate on the truth of God —and tear that stronghold down.
