????Fighting with the flesh
James 4:7-8 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life.
“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
The wolves could be a picture of the voices we have inside us. We are in constant conflict between the spirit and the flesh. The spirit provides peace, joy, contentment, wisdom. The flesh wants sin, greed, fear and disobedience to the Word of God.
The flesh tells you that you are unimportant, God has abandoned you. The spirit knows that God loves you and He has a great plan for you.
We know that the devil is a liar and God is on the throne. Yet, we focus on singleness, childlessness, loneliness, financial lack.
We should seek God’s face and trust the Holy Spirit for comfort, wisdom and blessings. Focus on the promises of God.
Feed the spirit and starve the flesh!
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Heavenly Father, I’ve been feeding the flesh and not nourishing the spirit as I should. Forgive me Lord. Guide and shield me. Grant me the Godly wisdom to know how to deal with the flesh. May I lean on Your word for my daily nourishment. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
